PROACTASE is a combination of acid protease and alkaline protease.
Acid Protease
Proteases that function optimally in acidic environments (pH range ~2-6). Active at low pH (e.g., stomach).
Alkaline Protease
Proteases that function optimally in alkaline environments (pH range ~7.5-11). Active in alkaline environments (e.g., small intestine).Protease enzymes play a significant role in poultry feed by enhancing nutrient digestibility and improving the overall performance of poultry.
Improved Protein Digestibility
Proactase enzymes break down complex protein molecules into smaller peptides and amino acids, making them easier for poultry to absorb. This leads to better utilization of dietary proteins and reduces the need for high-protein feed formulations.
Reduced Feed Costs
By increasing protein digestibility, protease enzymes allow for the inclusion of less expensive protein sources in feed formulations. This can lower the cost of feed without compromising nutritional value.
Enhanced Growth Performance
Improved protein absorption contributes to better growth rates and overall health in poultry. Birds show better weight gain and feed conversion ratios when protease enzymes are included in the diet.
Reduction in Anti-Nutritional Factors
Protease enzymes can degrade anti-nutritional factors, such as trypsin inhibitors and lectins, which are present in some feed ingredients (e.g., soy). This enhances the availability of nutrients and prevents adverse effects on digestion.
Dose
350 gm – 500 gm/ton of complete feed.
